The Center for Kingdom Creatives Literary Arts
We welcomed our newest branch of the Kingdom Creatives hub this year! The Literary Arts Affinity Group officially began with a big NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) kickoff in October 2022, with a Brainstorming Session which featured resource sharing, presentations, and fellowship, and then weekly worksessions during the month of November, which an assortment of writers from other groups, churches, and the community came to! We held a second local author book signing event in December which hosted 12 published authors from Casper and the surrounding community. It was a great success, even bigger than the first local author book signing held in April 2022 with six authors and over 60 attendees! We held a winter-escape, our first annual “Cabin Fever Conference: From Pen to Published” in February 2023 with 9 guest speakers, presentations, networking, and a lunchtime publishing Q & A panel and over 30 attendees!
The Literary leadership team encapsulates the Kingdom Creatives’ vision to bring together a Christian community of writers from many Churches! Wes Connell, Rebecca Maidl, Alisa Cochrane, Gayle Irwin, and Neva Bodin have taken initiative to get this group up and running, with other leaders invited to lend their expertise as well.
Be on the lookout for a fall writers’ conference in September 2023, and the second “Cabin Fever Conference” slated for early 2024. We host monthly Literary Affinity Group meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7 PM at River featuring anything from worksessions, resource sharing, critiquing, writing prompts, write-ins, writing-sprints, and more! The future is bright and we look forward to many more exciting events to come to fruition through this ministry!
We are expanding and building our leadership teams and community groups this year to encompass the four main hubs of our creative arts groups, which include Literary Arts, Visual Arts, Music Arts, and Performance Arts!

Our Visual Arts group will be reevaluating our meeting schedule for 2023-2024. Our Literary Arts group meets the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7 PM at River of Life Church. We’d love for you to join us!
